YOU PLAN TO DIVORCE

Parents are often at a loss as to how to handle telling their children that they plan to divorce.  Emotions for both parents are usually running high for both parents during this difficult time.  My blog today deals with some ideas on how to talk to your children when the decision has been made to divorce.

As a psychologist whose practice involves family therapy, I am available to help children and their parents through this difficult time.  During these sessions, the focus is on the child and their needs.  No "sides" are taken, except that of the child.  Hopefully, when parents are motivated to look beyond their own feelings, they can develop a new sense of communication and team work to help provide stability for their child/children.
