THE SHELL AROUND YOU
Thoughts On The Inner Self
I dare say that a walk on the beach will entice one to stop and admire the shells that wash up with the tide. We admire the beauty, but don't stop to think of the life that once lived in them.
Now, think of the people around you. It may be hard to look past the outer "shell" to what is inside. The appearance, whether through the way one looks on the outside, or even acts around others can be a "shell" to hide the true being inside.
There are those who are fragile, and may have weathered a lot of emotional pain along the way. Some have fears of dealing with life on life's terms. They may have a hard shell that is not easy to penetrate.
One who grows up in a home or community where there is warmth and love would be more likely to not have this hardness. Opening up to others comes easier because there is trust and acceptance.
Have you ever thought about what might be inside that shell? Do you have a shell around you that distances you from others?
